Dinghies in Demand

There is a big demand in Auckland for dinghies of all sizes and types, and, in spite of the shortage of good timber, boat builders are having difficulty in coping with orders. A customer of one boat builder went as far as supplying him with kahikatea for the planking of an Bft clinker-built dinghy, as frothing else was available. Many orders are being received for the replanking of old dinghies, the owners having been unable to obtain sufficient timber for new craft.
