FUNERAL OF FIRST SEA LORD

FLAGS AT HALF-MAST (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 25. “The burial of Admiral of the Fleet Sir A. Dudley Pound, until recently the First Sea Lord, will take place tomorrow,” said the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser) to-day. “As a mark of respect to his memory and the service he rendered to the Navy and to the cause of the British Commonwealth and the United Nations it is desired that all flags on public buildings in New Zealand be flown at halfmast during the day. It would also be appreciated if commercial houses and private citizens who will be flying flags could them at half-mast.”
