TRIBUTE TO LYALLDALE SOLDIER

The Lyalldale Hall was filled to capacity when residents and friends met to do honour to Private W. Daly. The evening was spent in dancing and songs were rendered by Miss Melva Johnston and Mr Partridge. The chairman. Mr J. Hart, spoke of the sterling qualities of the guest. He wished him godspeed and a quick and safe return. Other speakers were Messrs C. H. S. Johnston, 8. Pye and A. D. Bishop. Mrs G. E. Bishop made the presentation of a well-filled wallet to Private Dalv and cigarettes to the visiting soldiers. Music was supplied by Mrs L. R Bishop and extras by Mr Grant Henderson, and Messrs’J. Hart and W. Thomas acted as M.C.’s.
