Fraser (secretary) and C. Mclntosh (Inspector). The South Island Rabbit Boards’ Association advised that Rabbit Boards in the South Island which employ rabbiters continuously throughout the year on a “killer” policy' had been declared an essential industry. The Association also advised that it was proposed to hold the annual conference at Invercargill at Easter. The opinion was expressed that Easter, so far as high country boards were concerned, was too early. It was considered that a date in June, July or August would be more suitable. The balance-sheet was received from the auditor duly certified as correct. The inspector reported on his work for the last two months and some aspects of the report led to discussion. The number of rabbits in the Council’s plantations was commented on. It was stated that nothing was being done to destroy the pest. It was agreed that the inspector serve, a notice on the Council. It was decided that the annual meeting of ratepayers be held at Lake Tekapo on May 14. BIVOUAC CAMP At a meeting of the Primary Production Committee, held on Friday, it was decided to agree that the camp at Fairlie be closed on Wednesday. Kimbers were unanimous in expressing their appreciation of the work done by the men while in the district.
