FIRMING Tf.NuI.NCV CONTINUES Notwithstanding the fact that every ewe fair to date has been an unusually good one, yesterday’s annual sale st the Albury Saleyards again showed more than a tendency to firm, and ie real good market which was in evidence at the Holme Station Ewe Fair was confirmed. The best price for ewe lambs so far recorded this season was made for a line entered on behalf of Mr M. G. Wills, Opawa, these bcm, knocked down at 27/4. Prices were:— Two-tooth ewes: Best 37/- to 42/9, medium 33/- to 36/-, inferior 27/- to 31/7. Four and five year-old ewes: Best 22/6 to 26/6, medium 19/- to 21/6, inferior 15/- to 17/6. Five-year-old ewes: Best 16/- to 19/-. medium 14/- to 15/9, inferior 11/- to 13/6. Four and five-year-old ewes: Best 15/- to £l, inferior 12/- to 14/6. Culls 8/- to 11/-. Ewe lambs: Best 25/- to 27/4, medium 22/- to 24/6, small to inferior 18/- to 21/-. Bonds Hosiery Mills has declared a dividend of 10 per cent. The directors of Howard Smith Ltd. recommend the payment of a dividend for the half-year ended December 31, 1942, of two per cent on ordinary shares, making four per cent for the year. The usual quarterly dividend to March 31, 1943, on six per cent cumulative preference shares will be paid on April 7.
