GROWING NEEDS
American Red Cross (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, Mar. 12. The needs of the American Red Cross for the year in the South-west and South Pacific theatres of war will probably exceed 3.000.000 dollars (£935,71)0) though originally estimated at 500.000 dollars, said Mi- Charles K Gamble, Commissioner for the organisation in these areas, who has returned to Sydney after five months’ absence in America. The American Red Cross personnel when he left was about 75 in these areas. Now ft was 225 and would reach 500 by the end of the year.
