JAPANESE DEAD AT SANANANDA

The total number of Japanese killed counted in the Sanananda area has reached 2952, with an estimated additional 1000 dead from tropical diseases. Tlie total number of prisoners taken in Hie Sanananda area, including Korean coolies, was 120. A Tommy-gunner who was accompanying the brigadier saw the Japanese drawing his automatic. A burst from the Tommy-gun killed the Japanese, who proved to be one of the highest ranking officers encountered in that area.
