Britain’s War Expenditure LONDON. January 26. In the House of Commons the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir Kingsley Wood i .said that recently Britain had Im spending at the rate, of X 17,000,000 a day on the W4L U figure t'H.OOO.OOO a day more than the previous record. The increa.se had been brought about by activities in North Africa and elsewhere. He gave an indication that there would be a big increase in Britain',s wnr expenditure, and in(ica rd reri|»ifx-;i| ;iul t.o Ihr Allies.
