Fighting In Old Port Area Of Marseilles (Rec. 11.20 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 25. The Germans are rushing artillery and tanks to the old port area of Marseilles where large numbers of Frenchmen are reported to have barricaded themselves inside houses, from which they are firing on all attempting to approach, says the correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” on the French frontier. The Vichy radio states that Vichy authorities have proclaimed a state of siege at Marseilles. Nobody is permitted to enter buildings being evacuated until further notice. Anyone disobeying the order or attempting to shoot will be sentenced to death. Member: of the Bordre Legionnaire have been instructed to use firearms against all disregarding their orders.
