4999 From Present War
War pensions arising out of the present war numbered 4999. their annual value being £457.366. in September last. War pensions (1914-18» cost £1.617.481, plus £102.000 outside New Zealand, for 12 months ended March 31. The figures are given in the Abstract of Statistics. Social Security Fund revenue for the seven months ended October was £6,212,405. the total amount for the last fiscal year being £11.087.682. The receipts for the seven months were:— Registration fees, £353.806: charges on salaries and wages. £3.351.948: charge on other income, £2,484.307; penalties for late payment of fees. £17.535; miscellaneous, £4809.
Universal superannuitants. at September, numbered 42.954. the annual value of their superannuation being £644.310. Other social security benefits in force, with their annual value, were:—Age, 99,461 (£7,786.553); widows. 10.476 (£875.530); Maori Wat 2 < £164 >; miners’. 860 < £81.051); invalidity. 11.910 <£1.027.659); family. 16.276 (£830.212); orphans’. 390 < £21.351); emergency, 728 < £37.856); unemployment. 803; sickness, 4227; emergency (unemployment and sickness). 1084.
