Newspaper Protest
About 100 Indian newspapers have ceased publication as a protest against the official ban on the publication of certain reports, says the British United Press correspondent at New Delhi. Only Anglo-Indian and British-owned newspapers are publishing. American Casualties The United States Office of War Information announces that the United States have had 61.126 casualties since the outbreak of the war. They were 8531 killed, 3389 wounded. 42.740 missing. 2360 prisoners of war. 106 interned.
