American Tribute To New Zealanders

(N.Z.P.A.) AUCKLAND. Jan. 6. A tribute to the New Zealanders under his command in the combat area was paid by the Commander-in-Chief of the South Pacific area. Admiral William Halsey, during a press conference in Auckland. “I have seen New Zealanders at the front." he said, “and have heard about a lot more than I have seen. History tells us what a splendid part they have played in the battle of Britain, in Egypt, and elsewhere. They are continuing this splendid work where they are on my own small front, and they are going to continue to do more and more. Thev have the reputation of. and arc. superb flyers and fighters.”
