RETURNED SOLDIER'S COMPLAINT
Sir,—l am a soldier returned from the present war, and since I came back I have been getting a few days’ work here and there. I have chased a few haymaking jobs, only to be told by the farmers that they do not want me. It seems to me that the farmers are crying out for something they do not want. The same thing applies elsewhere. This seems to point out that the public has no time for those who have been overseas and are returned home again as unfit. I have tried to get back into the Army but have been rejected on account of stomach trouble. The Air Force has rejected me as being under medical standard. As a last resort I have written to the Rehabilitation Board. This time I have put in for a seaman’s position. This work I have followed for 15 years.—l am, etc., EX-SERVICEMAN.
