Crushed Against Bridge
IN.Z.P.A.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 4. Two Army officers. Second-Lieutenant James Robert Hodgson, single, aged 22. and Staff Sergeant James Edward Murdoch, married, aged 23, both of Dunedin, lost their lives through being crushed against a post on a stone bridge near Waiwera on Saturday. They were standing on the bridge when a lorry in an Army convoy swerved, crushing them. Both died in the Balclutba Hospital.
