BIG INCREASE IN WAR TAX (N.Z.P.A.) DUNEDIN, Jan. 1. The Dunedin Customs returns for December are as follows, figures for December, 1941, being given in parentheses: — Customs £25,616 (£50,560), beer duty £42,115 (£42,040). sales tax £33,220 (£33,597), war expenses tax £118,058 (£44,999). For the 12 months the figures are £409,100 (£581,649). Beer duty £402,722 (£457,801), sales tak £387,832 (£371,648». war expenses tax £1.017.265 (£498.135).
