A total Of £5323/3/3 has so far been given by residents of the Waimate County toward the "Win the War” patriotic fund. The latest list of collections up to. November 20, which includes some second donations, adds £3BO/4/4 to the previously acknowledged total of £4942/18/11. Christie, smin 39 4-ssec; W- Prue, 6min 47sec. SALVATION ARMY The Salvation Army children’s anniversary services were conducted by Adjutant G. Thompson, of Christchurch. Much credit is due to Young People’s Sergeant- Major Mrs Phillips gnd her .staff of teachers for a very successful fixture. Special united and solo singing was a feature of the Sunday meetings. In the afternoon the primary department, under Primary Leader Alice Mills, presented a very interesting hour of songs, recitations, and sketches. This was followed by the prize-giving fqr all departments. Beverley Buckingham was dux of the Junior Corps. TROUT FRY LIBERATED About 21,000 trout fry were liberated In the Waihao River last week. Tire fry, which was secured from the Otago Acclimatisation Society on behalf of the Waimate Society, were brought up from Dunedin by Mr T. Dunstan, who liberated them the same day. The fry were in good condition and are expected to thrive in the Waihao.
