ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOUR

Commanders To Be Court-martialled WASHINGTON. March 4. A heavily delayed message states that the United States War and Navy Departments have ordered that Admiral H. E. Kimmel, formerly commander of the United States Pacific Fleet, and General Walter Short, formerly Commander of the Hawaiian Department, be court-martialled for dereliction of duty arising out of the Pearl Harbour disaster. The trial, however, will be held in abeyance until “the public interest and safety permit.” Admiral Kimmel and General Short were removed from their commands ten days aftex* the Japanese attack on Psurl Harbour on December 7.
