Estate Of Mr R. E. McDougall
IP.A.i CHRISTCHURCH. Mar. 6. Probate of the will of Robert Euing McDougall was granted in the Supreme Court this morning by his Honour Mr Justice Northcroft to the trustees, Messrs A. C. Holmes and R. H. Webb, the estate being sworn at under £550,000. The death duties payable on the estate will be approximately half. The chief beneficiary under the will is Mrs McDougall, and the majority of shares in Aulsebrook and Co. are divided between her and her three daughters. A certain number of shares also go to the sons-in-law and to some members of the staff. Bequests to charities amount to £9BOO. Under the terms of the will the trustees become governing directors of the firm of Aulsebrook and Co. The death duties payable on the estate amount to 40 per cent with an extra 10 per cent succession duty on the whole amount, with the exception of the £9BOO payable to charities. Under the will 147 members of the staff of Aulsebrook and Co. receive bequests amounting to approximately £9OOO. On this amount the succession duty is 20 per cent.
