THE GAZETTE

Various Notifications (P.A.) WELLINGTON. March 5. Workers engaged in tunnelling work in connection with the construction of air-raid shelters throughout the Dominion are to be permitted to enter into contracts on a co-operative basis for such work. Authority for this is given in the Labour Legislation Suspension Order gazetted to-night. Under the amended Poisons Regulations issued with the Gazette, ergot and paraldehyde are added to the prescribed poisons class and will be obtainable only by a doctor's prescription. Air Forces raised in New Zealand are deemed during the war to be serving together and acting in combination with Air Forces raised in Australia. Notice to this effect is published in the Gazette. It is added that the order does not apply within New Zealand or territory for the defence of which New Zealand is responsible unless the Air Forces raised in Australia are serving within the Dominion or such territories. Another order declares that the Military and Air Forces raised in New Zealand which are serving in the United Kingdom or Europe shall be deemed to be serving together and acting in combination with the Military and Air Forces raised in Canada. M. A. F. Barnett and R. G. Simmer's are granted temporary commissions as Wing Commander and Squadron Leader respectively in the Special Duties Branch of the New Zealand Air Force, states a Gazette notice.
