LAWN TENNIS WIN FOR SOUTH CANTERBURY

Representative Match Good Standard Shown Tennis of a high standard was seen when the. annual representative match between Mid-Canterbufy and South Canterbury was played on the Maori Park Courts on Saturday afternoon. Playing conditions were ideal. South Canterbury beat the visitors by 17 matches to seven. Results (MidCahterbury names first):— Men’s singles: H. A. Barnett beat W. E. Renton 9-1, E. P. Men’s doubles: Barnett and Bryant beat Renton and Satterthwaite 9-8, Stanley and Watkins lost to Mac Kay and Innes-Jones 2-9, Clarke and Rishworth lost to Lewis and Gardner 3-9 Women’s singles: Mrs Dickens beat Miss B.
