TANKERS TORPEDOED

Many of Crew Burned To Death (Rec. 10.42). WASHINGTON, Feb. 21. The tanker Panmassachussetts of 8200 tons was torpedoed and sunk off the Atlantic coast. Eighteen survivors were landed. Twenty men are missing. The Norwegian tanker Kongsgaard was torpedoed off Curacao and beached in flames. Thirty of the crew were drowned or burned to death. Seven others were rescued. The scene of the torpedoing was described as a burning heli from blazing oil covering the sea.
