SPINAL MENINGITIS

Palmerston North Cases PALMERSTON NORTH, Feb. 21. Two cases of cerebro-spinal meningitis were reported in Palmerston North last week and this week two suspects have been notified, one coming from Feilding and the other from the Palmerston district. Dr. D. Cook, medical officer of health, states that the Palmerston cases reported last week could not be correlated and that this week’s suspects are unconnected with each'other. He added that there was no cause for apprehension. He said the main protection against the disease was the observance of sound health rules and the avoidance of overcrowding, specially in sleeping quarters. The individual’s health should be kept at as high a level as possible.
