HAPPINESS HUNT I've been to picnics by the sea, And watched the wavelets dance With glee. I’ve been on joy rides out of town. To gather nuts just turning brown. A smiling tiny baby boy Has given me such perfect joy. The first white show-drops in the Spring, Make my heart with pleasure sing, While the leaves just turning green Is the lovliest Sight I’ve seen. But I really must confess, In my “hunt for happiness,” Once when mother’s bilious head Made her stay all day in bed, ’Twas her thankful “Well done, dear,” Gave me the happiest day that year. Winner of Happiness Hunt: Naomi Kellie.
TRANSPOSITION I'm seen on high, in yonder sky; I’m seen below, where waters flow; I’m seen on breasts, where honour rests. My several meanings now determine; Reverse me and I stand for vermin. Answer: STAR, RATS.
