RAIN OVERNIGHT Overnight rain and a dull morning gave way to a fine afternoon yesterday. There was a cool wind from the northeast. There was light rain again last night. Records yesterday were:— Max. temperature in shade: 62.4. Min. temperature on grass: 55.2. Wind: N.E.3. Rainfall: ,09ins. Rainfall to date this year: 4.43in5. Sunshine: 5.1 hours. Sunshine to date this year: 357.1hr5. IN OTHER CENTRES Temuka: Yesterday was dull and overcast with a wind blowing from the south. Ten points of rain were recorded. The maximum temperature was 62 degrees and the minimum 47. The glass was steady last evening Waimate (for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday): Barometer—29.3; thermometer, maximum—6B; minimum—s 3; rain—6 points; bright sunshine—4 hours 12 mihutes; wind gauge, miles run in last 24 hours—llo. Yesterday was mainly sunny and warni, with a light breeze in evidence.
