Admiral Sir Gerald Dickens, broadcasting, said that more than 500,000 men had been transported practically without casualty overseas from various parts of the Empire between last July and October. Some 23,000 vehicles, 1300 planes, 400,000 tons of military and air force stores and hundreds of locomotives were transported during last October alone.
