AID FOR SERBIAN PATRIOTS

Appeal To United States (6.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Feb. 18. It is learned that the Yugoslav exile Government has requested United States Lease and Lend aid for General Mlhailovitch’s troops carrying out guerrilla warfare against the Germans in the mountains of Southern Serbia. General Mihallovltch has received some aid from abroad, believed to be airborne supplies from Russia, since the start of the campaign, but the Serb munitions factories are in German hands and the Serbians badly need war materials to carry on the forays which are causing the Germans steady losses of men and material. It will be recalled that a band of New Zealanders escaped from Greece and made their way to Serbia, where they are now fighting with General Mlhailovitch’s forces.
