Lyell 21/3. ST. ANDREWS SALE SHEEP VALUES FIRM About 70 head of very mixed quality cattle filled the cattle pens at St. Andrews yesterday. Cows were in over supply. The small yarding of fat and store sheep realised firm values. Prices were:— Fat cattle—Prime heavy cows £7/2/6 to £9/2/6, medium £5/2/6 to £6/17/6, prime heifers £7/7/6 to £9/2/6, light to medium £5/7/6 to £6/12/6, medium steers £lO/2/6 to £ll/12/6, light to £B/2/6. Fat lambs —Prime lambs 22/1 to 24/10, medium 19/10 to 21/10, prime ewes 12/7 to 13/10, freezing ewes 10/10 to 12/4, 5-year s.m. ewes to 13/8, good rape lambs to 19/-, medium to 16/6.
