OUTSTANDING SPECIMENS A further exhibition by gladioli enthusiasts of Timaru was staged in the Public Library yesterday. Again there was a large entry and quality in most classes was outstanding. A special feature was the non-com-petltive exhibits of the pupils of the South School, which included two large bowls of Picardy, another of Commander Koehl and a dainty bowl of autumn-shaded primulinus hybrids, as well as a large exhibit of exhibition and decorative types. Of this last exhibit outstanding blooms were Crystal, a new large pure white, Rosa, a beautiful frilled amethyst, and a vase of a new decorative seedling named Winchester. Some outstanding blooms among the competitive exhibits were Blenheim, a cream ground shaded rose, Evening Bells, a clear salmon pink with a cherry blotch, and Rewi Fallu, a beautiful dark red. The smoky class was excellent, Eileen Alannah, Southern Pride and Jalna being exquisite blooms. Results: Miss New Zealand: H. S. Kelly 1, T. Cullen 2, G. H. Edgeler 3. Picardy: J.
