The heavy selling wave which developed On the Stock Exchange recently continues with an uncertain undertone which will continue until the gazetting of the Government regulations restricting dealings in the financial sphere. Sales included E.S. and A. Bank 64/3, Colonial Sugar £3B/10/-, Howard Smith 19/-, British Tobacco 33/6, Tooths 34/9, Woolworths 10/7, Consolidated Industries 36/4, Standard Cement 16/-, Broken Hill Proprietary 38/-, Bulolo 25/-, Kuala Kampar 4/4. Melbourne—National Bank (£5 pd.) £5/3/-, Goldsbrough Mort 24/9, Consolidated Industries 35/9, Dunlops 17/-, Myers 24/-, United Provisions 8/8, Mt. Lyell 20/7, Mt. Morgan 6/-, Emperor 5/5, Loloma 12/6, North Broken Hill 31/6. GERALDINE SALE FAT LAMBS SELL WELL Fully 1000 fat lambs and a race and a half of fat sheep were offered at Geraldine yesterday and met sustained Competition. The yarding of store sheep created keen interest. Values were:— Fat lambs—Price heavy 22/10 to 26/1, medium 19/10 to 22/4. Fat sheep—Prime heavy ewes 12/10 to 14/1, medium prime ewes 10/10 to 12/9. Store sheep, good rape lambs 17/6 to 19/2, medium 15/6 to 16/10, small and medium ewe lambs 14/6 to 18/3. ADDINGTON MARKET VALUES MAINTAINED (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 18. Entries were above normal at the Addington market, particularly in the' store ewe section. Values were on a parity with those'rullng last week. Store lambs—There was again a large entry numbering 5700 head. The demand was well sustained. Extra good made tb 20/11, good forward rape 18/3 to 19/6, medium 16/6 to 17/3, ordinary to 16/-, and small and backward about 12/6. Fat lambs—The entry of about 3400 was of good quality. Exporters operated well within the present export schedule of BSd per lb, but prices were scarcely as firm as at last week’s sale. Fat sheep—About 3500 were penned. Values were little changed with the exception of wethers, which were slightly easier. Ewes, especially the better quality, sold at fully last week’s parity, ranging from 16/6 to 18/-. Exporters bought at schedule rates, paying 10/9 to 12/6. Extra prime wethers made to 34/-, good 27/- to 19/1, light to medium 24/- to 26/6, best young ewes to 20/-, good to 18/6, and export 10/5 to 12/6. Fat cattle—The entry totalled 530 head, and the quality covered a wide range. The market for good steers and heifers showed a slight improvement on last week’s rates, but there was no change in other classes, light cows being a shade easier. Good beef made from 39/6 to 42/6 per 1001 b, medium to good 36/- to 38/6, ordinary to 35/-, and Inferior down to 24/-. Best steers made £l4 to £l9/7/6, light and ordinary £lO/10/- to £l3/5/-, prime heifers £l2 to £l4/7/6, light and medium £7/5/- to £9/15/-, best cows £9/5/- to £lO/15/-, light and medium £4/10/- to £B/5/-. Fat pigs—Tlie porker entry was of similar size to that of last week and values improved on those at the start by 2/- to 3/- a head. Choppers were ■iii medium supply and values were unchanged. There was a larger yarding of baconerS and a good sale, values being a shade better than those ruling last week. Heavy porkers made 56/6 to 61/6, light and medium 39/6 to 54/6 (average price per lb Bid to 8d), light and medium baconers £3/2/6 to £3/19/6 and heavy £4/0/6d to £4/5/6 (average price per lb 6ld to 7d).

BURNSIDE SALE AN EASIER TONE (P.A.) DUNEDIN, Feb. 18. Larger entries in some of the sections were reflected in the easier sale at Bumside to-day. Fat cattle, which were in over supply, showed a decline of 25/a head on last week’s rates. Fat cattle—The entry was a fairly large one of 355 head. The sale opened on a good quality race with prices easier by 10/- to 15/- a head with a further easing as the sale progressed. Prices generally for all classes of steers were 25/- a head lower. Prime bullocks made £l5/12/6 to £lB/7/6, medium £l2/2/6 to £l4. light from £lO/10/-, prime cows and heifers £7 to £lO/7/6, medium £5/7/6 to £6/2/6, and light from £3/15/-. Fat sheep—The entry numbered 2400 head of medium quality. The market was firm for butchers' wethers, while prime ewes also showed a firming tendency. Prime wethers made 26/6 to 29/6, medium 23/9 to 25/-, light 19/- to 20/6, prime ewes 13/- to 20/6, medium 10/9 to 11/6, light from 10/-. Fat lambs—The entry of 2500 head sold at 21/6 to 29/6. Fat pigs—The entry was larger than a week ago and consequently there was a further easing. Baconers were 7/- to 8/- a head cheaper and porkers about 5/- to 6/-. Best baconers made £4/2/-, medium £2/17/6 to £3/7/6, best porkers £3/7/- and medium £2/13/- to £3.
