ORGANIC MANURES

Rationing Introduced The rationing of blood and bone and other organic manures has been introduced, according to a report made to the Auckland District Council of Primary Production. A recommendation that this should be done was made by the council after the rationing of phosphate fertilisers was authorised last July. The secretary, Mr E. B. Glanville, said the rationing scheme was now in operation. Market gardeners had first call on supplies of blood and bone manures, deliveries being made on the average amount used by them over the last two years. Any surplus after their requirements were met was to be rationed among farmers for topdressing, supplies to be allocated on the basis of previous purchases.
