WAIMATE BOXING DAY SPORTS
Marred By Bad Weather Cycling Events Well Supported Bad weather marred the Boxing Day sports held by the Walmate Caledonian Society yesterday, but in spite of frequent showers and a cold southerly wind, there was a fair attendance of the public. The Mayor (Mr W. F. Boland) complimented the Society on its initiative in holding the sports in such troublous times. The president (Mr D. Macdonald) thanked all those who had helped to organise the fixture and also paid a tribute to those who had attended in spite of the bitter weather. Results were:— Cash Cycling One mile—J. W.
