A GREAT RECORD

Seventy Years A Law Clerk (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. Dec. 8. Seventy years as a law clerk is the seemingly unbeatable record of service to the legal profession held by Mr Thomas Jenkins Hill, who for more than 57 years has been managing clerk to the firm of Messrs Lane, Neave and Wanklyn, Christchurch. Mr Hill completed his seventieth year of service to the profession to-day. Following his matriculation at Christ’s College, Mr Hill entered the employment of Mr R. D. Thomas on December 7. He became managing clerk to the firm of Messrs Holmes and Loughrey, the original predecessors of Messrs Lane, Neave and Wanklyn, on March 7, 1884, and has thus been managing clerk for 57 years.
