LITTLE TULIP

I have such sad news Of Fairy Dell, Little Fairy Tulip, Isn’t very well. She went out last week, To see Daisy Bell, And caught the measles, Tm sorry to tell. So at home she lies, Tucked up in her bed, With face flushed and sore, And hot aching head. She can’t eat her food, Although Queen Bee kind, Brought her the choicest Honey she could find. From her acorn cups, She takes little sips, Of the freshest dew From the pale cowslips. Gnomes and little elves. Walk with step so light. Two fairy nurses, Sit with her at night. Poor little tulip, May she be well, And no more fairies, Be ill in the Dell. (Sent by Olive Hopkinson, age 16.) I RIDDLES Q: What did the motorist say when he found his petrol tank empty? A: OICURMT. (Oh I see you are empty.) Q: Which letter of the alphabet goes all round Great Britain? A: The letter C. (sea.) Q: Why is bread like a singing lesson? A: Because they both begin with dough (doh). Q: What is it that has thirty legs and two wings and may be seen in a field? A: A football team. (Sent by Rona Crotty, age 10.)
