British Co-operation With Russia LONDON, November 18. The Prime Minister (Mr Churchill) said in the House of Commons to-day that co-operation between Russia "rd Great Britain was now as close as geographical and other factors allowed. The Dominions were also co-operating to the greatest extent. The Russian military mission has arrived in Montreal to ascertain what Canada can supply in munitions to meet Russia’s needs. Increased Aid From U.S. Mr Averell Harriman, President Roosevelt’s Lease-Lend expediter, has arrived in London, and has promised increased aid from America. He said that the United States would have a job to keep up with what Britain was doing. Russia, he said, would fight on. The Russian people would never surrender. The amendment of the Neutrality Act showed, he said, that America was determined to deliver the goods. Mr Harriman was accompanied by the Lord Privy Seal (Mr C. R. Attlee) and the Under-Secretary for Air (Captain H. H. Balfour), who have been on a visit to the United States. A resolution calling for all-out support for President Roosevelt’s policy of aiding Britain, Russia, and China, was received with thunderous applause at a meeting of the Congress of Industrial Organisations, one of the two major trade union organisations in America. The resolution added that American workers could not, and would not, tolerate apeasement of the Powers which were seeking to undermine United States democracy.
