RETIRING FROM BUSINESS (Special) DUNEDIN, Sept. 11. Mr W- F. James, who has had control of the totahsators in Otago and Southland for many years, notified the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club at a meeting to-night that owing to ill-health he had decided to retire from business. In connection with this matter a meeting of delegates of various racing and trotting clubs in Otago and Southland will be held in Dunedin on Wednesday next to consider what steps shall be taken with regard to the future management of the totalisator in the two provinces. It is rumoured that the meeting will consider a proposal to form a company to carry out the duties formerly carried out by Mr James. The Forbury Park Club’s delegates at this meeting will be Messrs J. M. Samson, H. Archibald and R. K. Altchison.
