FILM INQUIRY
Pro-War Allegations
Resented
(Rec. 8.0). WASHINGTON, Sept. 8. Mr Wendell Willkie, on behalf of the motion picture industry, told the Senate Committee that the industry disputes the legality of the inquiry into the allegations of pro-war propaganda but intends to, produce witnesses to protect the film-makers’ good name. The Fight for Freedom Committee denounced the inquiry as the “most barefaced attempt at censorship and racial persecution ever attempted.” Senator Clark thereupon denounced the Fight for Freedom organisation as one making no secret of its determination to Involve the United States in a bloody and useless war.
