GOOD NEWS FROM ATLANTIC LONDON, Sept. 9. A review of the Battle of the Atlantic given in London reveals that British and Allied ships sunk by enemy action in July and August did not amount to much more than one third of Axis shipping lost in the same period. U.S. MINISTER REACHES AUSTRALIA (Rec. 130 am.) SYDNEY, Sept. 9. The United States Minister to Australia, Mr Nelson Johnson and family. Colonel Merle Smith, United States military attache to Austral' v, and his assistant. Lieutenant Robert Odell, have arrived here. They were met by Federal Ministers and other prominrre persons and warmly welcomed. The new American Consul-General, Mr O. H. Derry also arrived. The Chinese Minister to Australia, Dr. Hso Mo has also arrived in this country. Dr. Hsu Mo said the Chinese people had never any doubt about the outcome of the conflict in Europe and Asia. It had been the Chinese policy to offer resistance to aggression and coincidently pursue the work of national reconstrdction.
