TIMARU LIME COMPANY
The Timaru Lime Company, Ltd., shows a net profit of £1023 for the year ended August 31, 1941, and the available balance is £1076. Dividend recommendation is 5 per cent, requiring £650 (unchanged from last year), and balance to be carried forward will be £426.
The profit and loss account shows gross profit of £3387. General expenses took £1374 and depreciation £990. In the profit and loss appropriation account, balance from 1940 of £lOBB, together with net profit of £1023. makes £2lll. Dividend for 1940 took £650. reserve for taxation £285, and part brokerage written off £lOO, leaving the available balance of £1076.
The directors report that the company has not yet been able to obtain the full benefit of the plant installed a year ago. This has been caused by war conditions, nearly one-half of the regular employees being with the Armed Forces. The year’s trading has been satisfactory, add the directors.
