WEIGHT TAXING CAPACITY OF MACHINES

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 18. The Postmaster-General, the Hon. P. C. Webb, said to-day that the volume of air mail letters for overseas destinations had increased to such an extent that the carrying capacity of the aircraft available was becoming seriously taxed, therefore he requested users of the air mail services to restrict the Weight of their letters. One in which this could be done, the Minister suggested, was to use air majj writing paper and envelopes in place of ordinary writing paper. “The position is so serious,” Mr Webb concluded. “that correspondents using the air mails are urged to give heed to this request”
