AWARDED D.F.M.

Wellington Airman (PA.) WELLINGTON, June 19. Advice has been received by Air Headquarters at Wellington that Sergeant Frank Skipworth Klrke has been awarded the Distinguished Eying Medal. Sergeant Klrke was born in Wellington in 1917, and was educated at Marlborough College, Blenheim. His mother is Mrs A. B. Klrke, Owen Street, Wellington. The official citation says that Sergeant Kirke had completed many operations against the enemy as an air observer, and that this navigation had been of the very highest order. He had always shown the greatest keenness in his work. He displayed outstanding ability, determination and devotion to duty throughout.
