WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

SEADOWN There was a good attendance at the June meeting of the Seadown Women's Institute. Mrs Ward presided. The Golden Thread on New Zealand pioneers was given by Miss Stonyer. A “Good Service Badge” was presented to Mrs Brosnahan. Mrs Caln spoke of the long years of faithful service given by Mrs Brosnahan. Knitting hints were given by Miss Gamble, who was accorded a vote of thanks. Mrs Waite and Mrs Clarke took charge of Competition, which was very enjoyable. Mrs R. Hewson had prepared a question box, in which members took a keen Interest. The competitions resulted:—Best soft toy: Mrs Topham 1, Miss Edgar and Miss Kennedy (equal) 2; best parsnips: Mrs R. Hewson and Miss Edgar (equal) 1, Mrs Smith 3.
