CARGO OF OIL

French Ship “ Picked Up ” (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 22. British naval patrols “picked up” the French oil tanker, Scheherazade in the Atlantic carrying a cargo of oil from a United States port to Casablanca. The British authorities granted the Scheherzade a navicert some time ago, but because of recent developments in Vichy’s attitude it was decided to take action. Two French oil tankers about to depart from the United States with cargoes of oil, have been detained.
