MONEY THROWN AWAY
George O’Connor, of Jersey City, United States, ripped the 1940 calendar from the kitchen wall and threw it into the dustbin. Mrs O'Connor, glancing at the spot where the calendar usually hung, nearly fainted. Without George’s knowledge, she had pinned an envelope at the back of the calendar in which to keep her husband’s pension money. George, a retired fireman, rushed round to the city refuse dump and searched among the rnahich until he found the monev.
