THE CHURCHES

TO-MORROW’S SERVICES Trained nurses, members of the Timaru Volunteer Ambulance Division and the St. John Ambulance Brigade will hold a church parade to St. Mary’s Parish Church for the 11 o’clock service. The preacher will be the vicar, the Ven. H. W. Monaghan. The other services are: 8 a.m., Holy Communion, and 6.30 p.m., Evensong (preacher, the Rev. J. S. H. Perkins). At Woodlands Street, Home Mission anniversary services are to be conducted by the Revs. J. S. Waite and G. I. Laurenson. Services in Chalmers Church will be conducted by the Minister, who will preach on “The Meaning of the Ascension,” and on “Where Did Jesufe go When He Ascended?" At the Congregational Church Pastor Browning will take as his subject “The Herald of Christ. In the evening the subject will be “What Is Man?” In St. John's parish the monthly service at Washdyke will be at 2.30 p.m. The Evensong at All Saints Church will be held at 4 p.m. Home Mission Sunday will be held in Bank Street Circuit. The Rev. J. I. Laurenson, General Superintendent of Methodist Home Missions, will conduct the morning service. Rev. H. C. Orchard will preach on Home Missions at the evening service, also at Adair at 2.30. Mr K. A. Blakemore conducts the service at Pleasant Point at 2.30. At Trinity Church, the Rev. F. H. Wilkinson will preach at II a.m. on “The Ultimate Triumph,” and at 4 p.m. on “The Life of Christian Victory.” Owing to a visiting minister taking the meeting last Sunday the address on the Mystic 6'3 was postponed, but will be given to-morrow at 6.45 p.m. in the Adventist Church. “'Soul and Body” is the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist. The Golden Text is “’I pray God your whole soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” The services at St. Paul’s will be conducted by Rev. J. Baird. Meetings at the Salvation Army will be conducted by Major and Mrs Lamond, assisted by their daughter, l Captain Grace Lamond, Stratford. ]
