FATALLY BURNED

CHILD IN PARTY FROCK In an ankle-length frock, seven-year-old Rita Maureen Bradley, of Woodford Green, visited her girl friend next door to play “mothers and fathers” at a party. She stood on a fender to look into a mirror and her dress brushing against the fire burst into flames. She died in hospital. The story was told at the inquest in London by Patricia Tibbs, the seven-year-old playmate. Recording accidental death, the coroner, Dr. Skeels, said that a fireguard should have been provided, although the law only required it up to the age of seven.
