PATRIOTIC EFFORT The . Ashwick Flat Tennis Club held a successful dance recently. Music was supplied by Messrs N. Williams and E. Butters, with extras by Misses Burgess and Macdonald. A lucky spot waltz was won by Miss Burgess and Mr Struthers and the traffic cop waltz by Miss M. Macdonald and Mr Hutt. Mr E. Jones acted as M.C. As a result of these efforts the patriotic fund will benefit by about £5. “STAR DUST” Said to be as thrilling as the song that inspired it and as exciting as the beauty of its lovely star, Linda Darnell, “Star Dust” will be screened at the De Luxe Theatre, Fairlie, to-night at 8 o’clock The story of two plucky small-town youngsters in love and fighting for fame in Hollywood, “Star Dust” has been called the most original entertainment idea in years. The strong supporting cast includes John Payne, Ronald Young, Charlette Greenwood and William Gargan. Excellent supports will be screened.
