GOVERNOR OF MALTA

Sir William Dobbie Appointed LONDON, May 20. The King has approved the appointment of Major-General (temporary Lieutenant-General) Sir William Dobbie as Governor and Commander-in-Chief of Malta. General Dobbie has been administering the Government of Malta since he assumed command of the troops in April, 1941, with the exception of a short period in May, 1941 immediately before General Sir Charles Bonham Carter left the colony.
