TOBRUK QUIET
Abyssinian Advance Continues (Rec. 10.2 p.m.) RUGBY, May 10. A Cairo communique says: "There Is nothing important to report at Tobruk. Active patrolling by mechanised columns continues at Solium. In Abyssinia our forces advancing from both north and south upon Amba Alagi made further progress, capturing prisoners and inflicting casualties on the enemy. “In the Eastern Gojjam area our troops killed 80 and wounded 200 cf an enemy garrison retreating from Debra Marcos. In the south, after heavy fighting spread over some days, the enemy has been ejected from strongly prepared positions, one of which was eight miles in depth. Our leading troops are now approaching a point 45 miles south of Neghelll and Alghe, a similar distance north of the Yadellos.” A communique states that early yesterday enemy aircraft raided the Suez Canal zone for the second time in a week. There was slight damage but no casualties. The Italian High Command announces that casualties on all fronts in April were 5984 killed, 17,976 wounded and 76,058 missing.
