NEW ZEALAND RAILWAYS TIMARU RACES, MAY 15 and 17 THURSDAY, MAY 15 Special passenger train leaves Christchurch 6.35 am., Ashburton 9.5, Orari 9.55, Temuka 10.9, aiTivlng Tlmaru Racecourse 10.33 a.m. SATURDAY, MAY 17 Special passenger train leaves Christchurch 7.35 am., Ashburton 9.32, Orari 10.20, Temuka 10.34, arriving Timaru Racecourse 10.57 a.m. THURSDAY AND SATURDAY, MAY 15 and 17 CHRISTCHURCH - TIMARU: The 8.35 a.m. Christchurch-Invercargill express will stop at Washdyke to set down. Special passenger train stopping at Washdyke to pick up and at Temuka, Orari and Hinds to set down leaves Timaru 4.50, arriving Christchurch 8.16 pm. TIMARU-RACECOURSE: Special trains leave Timaru for the Racecourse at 11.7 a.m., 11.33 a.m. and 12.3 pm., returning from Racecourse at 4.55 p.m. TIMARU-ASHBURTON: Usual 11.36 a.m. train for Ashburton leaves Timaru 12.11 pm. Usual 4.55 pm. train for Ashburton will be fast passenger train leaving Timaru 5.18 p.m., arriving Ashburton 7.9 p.m. It will connect at Washdyke with the 4.55 p.m. Race-course-Tlmaru special. Observes usual stoppages. FAIRLIE BRANCH: Evening train leaves Timaru at 4.5 p.m., Racecourse 4.45, arriving Fairlie 8.41 pm. TIMARU-OAMARU: Usual 7.25 a.m. train for Timaru leaves Oamaru 8.40 a.m., arriving Timaru 10.42 am. Usual 7.20 a.m. train leaves Timaru 8.10 am., arriving Oamaru 11.10 am. Usual 4.44 p.m. train leaves Timaru 5.30 p.m., arriving Oamaru 725 pm. Usual 4.15 p..m. train leaves Oamaru 4.55 p.m., arriving Timaru 7.50 pm. The above trains connect at Studholme with Waimate Road Service. DAY EXCURSION FARES TO TIMARU: Day excursion tickets will be Issued to Timaru from Ashburton-Falrlie-Waimate-Oamaru and intermediate stations on direct line of route by trains arriving Timaru up to 10.42 am., on 15th and from Falrlie-Wal-mate-Oamaru and intermediate stations on direct line of route by trains arriving Timaru up to 10.42 a.m. on 17th May, available for day of Issue only. Also special fare (rail only) to Timaru Racecourse by special from Christchurch on 15th and 17th as follows: Available to Racecourse and back via Washdyke direct on day of Issue from Hinds 6/1 and 4/5; Orari 3/- and 1/11; Temuka 2/6 and 1/8.
