YACHT WRECKED

No Trace of Occupant By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, December 18. The 14-foot yacht Lupi, belonging to F. Weston, Elizabeth Street, Petone, in which T. J. B. Osborn, single, aged 29, went cruising in Wellington Harbour on Monday and failed to return, was found smashed to matchwood this afternoon on the eastern side of Ward Island. The police said to-night that the sails had been tied to the mast. Apparently Osborn had tried to row the yacht, but it was awkward to row. No sign was seen of the missing yachtsman. A further search of the island will be made to-morrow by the police.
